File Generation

File names

File names for produced files take the form:

  • ICF - S202SCTBBBBBBBBXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.I

  • IQF - S202SCTBBBBBBBBXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX.Q

Where:

  • BBBBBBBB is the 8 character sending institution BICFI associated with the file.

  • XXXXXXXXXXXXXXX is a 15-character randomly generated identifier consisting of uppercase letters and numbers only.

The random identifier consists of a truncated random UUID. Whilst for practical purposes collisions are extremely unlikely, it cannot be guaranteed to be truly unique.
