Account Management
The Verification of Payee (VoP) Responder has a dependency on an Account Management system that conforms to the IPF Account Management API. Icon Solutions does not provide a service that implements this API. It is expected that the customer deploys a service that the VoP Responder service connects to.
Overview
The Account Management service should provide the account details used during a name match which is fed into the embedded IPF Identity Resolution service and ultimately the third party name matching service.
The below diagram shows the flow from/to the Account Management service
Joint Accounts
A Joint Account represents an account shared between two or more people. All account holders can access and manage the funds in a joint account as if they were the only account holder.
The Account Management API supports multiple names coming back in the response. This is intended to support customers that have Joint Accounts. If multiple names are received in the response message (corresponding to the joint account holders), the VoP Responder will use these to populate the request for Name Matching. The highest scoring name will be used to determine the response.
Account Type
Account Management has the concept of an Account Type, which is the type of account on record for a particular payee. For example, this could be an individual account or a corporate account. There could be different matching rules associated with different Account Types which is why there is this distinction.
This is expected to come back in the response of the Account Management API and is used during Name Matching to identify the thresholds to use for matching.
Name Type
Account Management has the concept of a Name Type, which represents the type of name on the account. Currently, this can only be INDIVIDUAL or FULL_ORGANISATION. There could be different scoring rules associated with different Name Types which is why there is this distinction.
This is expected to come back in the response of the Account Management API and is used during Name Matching to provide more accurate scores based on the type of name.
